Private medical consultation with a nurse practitioner (NP)

Biron offers a private medical consultation service with an NP for the assessment and treatment of health problems.

This simple and confidential service is offered in person. It allows you to get a same-day appointments may be available, subject to availability, for health problems.

No external medical prescription is required.

The private medical consultation service is designed for people who want timely access to a medical appointment, sometimes the same day, subject to availability, without going to the emergency room or a walk-in clinic.

During the consultation, the NP can:

• Assess your health condition
• Provide a diagnosis
• Prescribe treatments or medications, if needed
• Order labpratory tests, if needed
• Provide medical follow-up, if necessary.

Consultations and samples can be done at the same location, when required.

This medical consultation allows the NP to assess and treat several health problems, including:

• Cold or flu symptoms, fever, or other respiratory infections
• Urinary tract and vaginal infections
• Skin conditions, such as redness or infections
• Digestive problems, including bloating, constipation, and acid reflux
• Medical renewals

Please note that this service does not cover mental health problems, severe health problems, or medical emergencies. Eligibility is assessed during the telephone triage.

The cost of a private medical consultation with a specialized nurse practitioner (SNP) is $140.00. This fee includes a 15-minute consultation with the NP.

Additional fees may apply if laboratory analyses are required, depending on the number and type of tests prescribed.

The fees of this service are not covered by the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ), but they may be reimbursed by your private insurance.

A receipt for private insurance will be given to you to facilitate your reimbursement claim.
