Private medical consultation with a nurse practitioner (NP)

Biron offers a private medical consultation service with an NP for the evaluation and treatment of health problems.

This simple and confidential service is offered in person. It allows you to get a same-day appointment, subject to availability, for health problems.

No external medical references are required.

The private medical consultation service is for people who want to get a medical appointment quickly, sometimes the same day depending on availability, without going through the emergency room or a walk-in clinic.

During the consultation, the NP can:

• assess your condition,
• make a diagnosis,
• prescribe treatments or medications if needed,
• order lab tests, if needed, and
• provide follow-up care, if necessary.

Consultations and blood tests can be done at the same location, when required.

A medical consultation with anNP can address several health issues, including:

• Cold, flu or fever symptoms, or other respiratory infections
• Urinary tract infections and vaginal infections
• Skin issues, such as redness or infections
• Stomach problems, including bloating, constipation, and acid reflux
• Medical renewals

Please note that this service does not cover mental health issues, serious health problems, or medical emergencies. Eligibility is confirmed during the telephone triage.

The cost of a private medical consultation with a specialized nurse practitioner (SNP) is $140.00. This fee includes a 15-minute consultation with the NP.

Additional fees may apply if laboratory analyses is required. These vary according to the number and type of analysis prescribed.
The fees of this service are not covered by the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ), but they may be reimbursed by your private insurance.

A receipt for private insurance will be given to you to facilitate your reimbursement claim.
