Section 136 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Act respecting medical laboratories, organ and tissue conservation and the disposal of human bodies stipulates that all work carried out by a medical biology laboratory must be carried out in response to an order signed by a duly-authorized professional under the Act governing the professional order to which he/she belongs.
Test costs are reimbursed by most group medical expense insurance plans. We suggest you check your insurance contract because each plan is different.
Each test has a different price. We need to know the tests requested on your order in order to determine the total price.
Test reports are sent directly to the treating physician within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the type of tests that were ordered. The wait time for the results of certain tests may exceed 48 hours. We can provide you with accurate information when you make your appointment.
Only the results of the following tests can be disclosed via telephone: PT INR, APTT, blood group, pregnancy, mononucleosis, direct streptococcus, urine culture and throat culture. However, we can send you your analysis report via secure email. Simply request it when you book your appointment.
You can get an appointment on the same day, depending on the availability of where you want to go for your tests. It may take 24 to 48 hours depending on the centre.
