Genetic testing for businesses and their employees
Support the mental health of your staff and reduce the frequency and duration of disabilities due to mental health reasons.
For several years now, indicators have been showing a rise in mental health issues, while employers are seeing more disability claims and presenteeism. This is impacting businesses financially, due to increased group insurance costs, and operationally, by having to constantly manage absences.
Pharmacogenomics (PGx) serving corporate human resources
A properly implemented PGx testing program can help improve workplace health and productivity while reducing overall healthcare costs.
There are many reasons for including PGx testing in your HR strategy:
- Group insurance costs are rising every year
- Mental health issues have a negative impact on businesses
- HR has to deal with employee dissatisfaction over coverage
- Complex disability cases go unattended due to lack of resources
- The job market is not favourable for employers, and solutions must be found to retain employees and attract talent

Frequently asked questions
Do employers have access to the results of the reports?
No. Patient results will never be shared with a third party without their consent. If you wish to access them, the patient’s consent must first be obtained.
How is the data secured?
Genetic data is encrypted on multiple levels and stored on Canadian servers that meet the highest security standards. Our SOC2 Type 2 certification is tested annually by an external auditor to ensure the robustness of our systems. Biron Genetics protects access to genetic data by letting each patient control who can access their information.
For how long are the results valid?
Since the genetic code does not change, the results will be the same whether the test is taken at the age of 7 or 70. However, science evolves, and it is possible that the interpretation of the results will change over time. The report will be updated periodically at no additional charge to ensure that the patient and their healthcare professional have the most current and scientifically sound information possible. Additional charges may apply if further genetic testing is required.
