A new computed tomography (CT) scanner from the GE Company recently made its debut at the Imagix Laënnec clinic in the Town of Mount-Royal. This new technology enables the clinic to capture high-quality images using lower doses of radiation, contributing to more accurate diagnoses and less exposure for patients.
This new state-of-the-art equipment will make it possible to offer new medical examinations, such as:
- Coronary calcium score test
- Measures the amount of calcium built up in the arteries and/or calculates calcium in the coronary arteries.
- CT fluoroscopy procedures
- Multiple types of intervention
- Virtual colonoscopy examination
- Less invasive than traditional colonoscopy
- CT lung screening examination
- Helps identify the size and location of anomalies or nodules, even very small ones, less than or equal to 3 millimetres.
At the same time, the clinic has also carried out renovations to improve the comfort of patients.
