First edition of the Move to Give challenge

Last month, employees of Biron took part in the first ever Move to Give challenge. It was National Mental Health Week, May 3 to 9, 2021, that launched the challenge. This initiative was created to encourage employees to stay active despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and to adopt healthy lifestyles.
Employees who participated in the challenge were eligible to win a variety of prizes, including a fitness assessment by a kinesiologist and paid days off.
In addition, for each photo of an employee practicing a physical activity, Biron donated up to $10 to the Fondation du Grand défi Pierre Lavoie. Also, Pierre Lavoie presented a conference especially for Biron employees on the importance of prevention in health matters, the limited efficacy of medication without a change in lifestyle habits, and epigenetics.
After receiving more than 500 photos of employees in action, Biron was very proud to donate $5,000 to the foundation!
A survey of participants revealed that 55% felt the challenge helped them increase their time spent being active in May compared to previous months. As well, 61% of respondents agreed that the challenge improved their state of mind.
As a result, we can say the challenge was a success and we are already looking forward to the next edition!
