Biron participates in the Mira Bike Ride
On August 16, a record number of cyclists took part in the 21st edition of the Mira Bike Ride, which raised $233,000 for the Mira Foundation to help fund the training of six future guide dogs and assistance dogs. During the event, Biron made a $1,500 donation to the foundation. With around 200 people attending each year, this event has raised over $1.7 million for the foundation over the years.
For Biron, this sporting event is the perfect opportunity to combine the values shared by Biron and Mira. After all, it promotes healthy lifestyle habits, as does Biron. What’s more, one of Mira’s missions is to facilitate the inclusion of people living with differences by promoting an inclusive society. This mission is in line with Biron’s values of contributing to the betterment of its community.
The Mira Foundation fosters the social integration of people with disabilities through its guide dogs and assistance dogs. Services are provided free of charge by the foundation, and each plan is tailored to the needs of the individual concerned. Since its inception, more than 3,800 dogs have been provided to people with visual or motor impairments, as well as to young people with autism spectrum disorders.
