Camping

Take your device anywhere, even off-grid

What do I need to bring to travel off the grid?

With the different types of batteries available, your CPAP device can follow you anywhere, even remote places with no electricity.

In a tent

  • If you’re staying in a place with no electricity, choose the option that best suits your device:
    • Lithium-ion battery for your device (12 V or 24 V)
    • Deep discharge battery
    • Portable power supply
  • When using a battery, turn off the humidifier to maximize the charge.
  • Plan where and how you’ll charge your battery. Check whether there are adequate electrical outlets at the campsite. If not, charge it from your vehicle’s outlet, ideally while you’re driving. Avoid charging it directly from your vehicle’s battery using a clamp-on converter, as this may drain the battery.
  • If you’re camping in the wilderness without access to a power source, you can get a portable solar panel.
  • Whichever way you choose to recharge your battery, make sure you have the right connectors and test your device with the battery before you head out into the woods!

In a recreational vehicle (RV)

  • If your vehicle is connected to a power source, you can plug your CPAP device into a vehicle outlet.
  • If you don’t have access to an electrical outlet, you can power your device with a deep discharge battery.
  • Make sure that you have the necessary connectors and accessories and don’t completely drain the RV battery!
  • It’s a good idea to test everything before leaving and have a spare battery.
