Important information: Instructions for pulse oximetry screening
The test your child is about to take will record the level of oxygen in his or her blood while he or she sleeps.
Documents to complete
It is important to fill out and return the two attached documents to bironsommeil@biron.com or hand them in in hard copy form when you return the device. Without these documents, we will not be able to analyze the results. Desktop computer users can fill out the documents directly on their screen.
The documents to be completed are the following:
Pickup of your device at the service centre
- When: The day of your appointment
- Where: The service centre determined when you book your appointment
- When: The day after the screening, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (unless you have been given other information)
- Where: The same place where you picked up your device the previous day
Please note that each device is carefully disinfected using specialized products that eliminate viruses.
Screening preparation
- Presence: The child’s presence is not required when picking up the device.
- Health conditions: If the child is suffering from significant nasal congestion or an unusual medical condition on the day of the screening, it would be preferable to reschedule the appointment by calling us at 1 866 341-4975.
- Nails: A sensor will be placed on one of your child’s fingers or toes. Make sure to remove any nail polish or fake nails to ensure that the signal is properly recorded.

Reception of results
You and the prescribing physician will receive the results via email or regular mail within 10 business days. Your doctor will be responsible for providing you with an explanation of the results obtained.
