The adalimumab test is now available from Biron
Biron has taken a major step by becoming one of the very few private laboratories in Canada offering a test to measure blood concentrations of adalimumab and anti-adalimumab antibodies, performed entirely at our Quebec facilities. Until now, adalimumab testing in Canada was provided by just a few private labs, and they sent the samples to the United States, which meant a long wait nd extra costs.
We now offer this specialized test directly at our accredited Quebec laboratory—a local, fast, handy solution that is hard to find in Canada.
Why is this test important?
Adalimumab is a biologic drug prescribed to treat several chronic inflammatory diseases, such as Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis. During treatment, measuring the drug’s blood concentration and detecting antibodies means that people living with an inflammatory disease can be taken care of quickly; as a result, they adhere to treatment instructions better.
At Biron, we are now doing this test directly at our Quebec lab, ensuring that our clients get their results quickly. For patients who have a chronic inflammatory disease, getting results quickly can really be a game changer. It means that, if necessary, the doctor can adjust treatment more quickly, contributing to better disease control.
In real terms, this new Biron service means:
- Much faster results: 5–10 business days, instead of a few weeks
- Service accessible Canada-wide: we receive samples from all provinces
- A comprehensive Quebec-based solution: samples may be taken on site or even at home
An advantage for clinical research
For clinical studies, getting fast results and simplifying the logistics are considerable benefits for patient follow-up and data analysis. This means many benefits for our clinical research partners, such as:
- Optimizing clinical development by providing better understanding of individual treatment responses.
- Accelerating follow-up and decision-making because of quick results.
- Reducing costs and simplifying logistics by using a Quebec lab that can both take samples and analyze them.
- High-quality data from a lab that meets the highest certification standards, Biron’s unmistakable hallmark.
Adding this test to our services is part of our commitment to adopt solutions that meet the specific needs of Canadian patients, healthcare professionals, and clinical research organizations.
