Important information: Instructions for your sleep apnea test

The examination you are about to undergo will help detect the presence or absence of breathing abnormalities during your sleep, such as sleep apnea. We hope this test opens the door to nights of restful sleep! Thank you for placing your trust in us.

When you visit our service centre, we will provide you with the case containing the accessories you need to perform the test. You will also find detailed instruction sheets to help you install the equipment.

Instructions to follow for the success of your sleep test

Documents to complete

You will be given documents when you pick up the equipment . These documents must be filled out and returned with the equipment the day after your sleep test.

Without these documents, we cannot interpret your results.

Preparing for the test

  1. Health conditions: If you are suffering from severe nasal congestion or an unusual health condition on the day of your test, it would be preferable to reschedule your appointment by contacting us at 1 866 341-4975](tel:18663414975).
  2. Nails: A sensor will be placed on the index finger of your non-dominant hand for the duration of the test. This finger must be free of nail polish or false nails.
  3. CPAP machine: If you are using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine, you must stop using it five nights before your appointment.
  4. Beverages: Avoid coffee, dark carbonated drinks, chocolate and alcohol for six hours before your bedtime.

Depending on the results, additional fees may be added if further tests and/or treatment are indicated.

Delivery of results

The results of your test will be interpreted by one of our pulmonologist and will be available within 10 to 15 business days on MyBiron.

Following your visit to our service centre, you have received an activation code by email to create your MyBiron account. You need this code to create your account.

Depending on the results, additional fees may be added if further tests and/or treatment are indicated.
