Biron is proud to work with YQB Quebec City Jean-Lesage International Airport and the Public Health Agency of Canada to offer COVID-19 screening to international travelers arriving in Quebec City.

How to proceed?

Before arriving at YQB Quebec City Jean-Lesage International Airport
  • Use ArriveCAN to submit your mandatory information before arriving to Canada, as required by the Government of Canada.
  • Pre-register for a screening test when you know the date and time of your arrival in Quebec City. Passengers who do not pre-register can also register when they arrive at Quebec City Jean-Lesage International Airport, but may face delays.
  • If you are traveling with your family or if you are accompanied, everyone in your group must pre-register.
After arriving at YQB Quebec City Jean-Lesage International Airport
  • After arriving and completing the customs process, pick up your luggage and follow directional signage to the Biron sampling center.
  • Travelers who have not pre-registered before arriving in Quebec City will be able to register directly at the Biron sampling center. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to expedite your testing experience.
  • A Biron healthcare professional will perform the test and your sample will be sent to Biron's laboratory where it will be analyzed.
  • Once you have completed your test, follow the directions from the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Test result
  • The delivery of the result can take up to 72 hours. Be assured that Biron makes every effort to issue your result as quickly as possible.
  • At the time of the test, you will be given a password to access the report that will be emailed to you at the address you provided when registering.
  • Your result will be sent to you by email.
  • When your result is available, Biron will also communicate it to the Public Health Agency of Canada, which will provide you with information for the next steps.

ArriveCAN is available to download as a mobile app or you can create an account and sign in online.

How do I know if I am really allowed to enter Canada?

If you have any questions about your eligibility to enter Canada, visit the Travel and Tourism Canada website.

Do I need to register to be tested?

Yes, registration is required. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to avoid delays at the airport and can be done online or on your personal mobile device. Travelers who do not pre-register will be able to register upon arrival at Airport.

Does registration for arrivals testing replace the need to undergo a pre-departure test before traveling to Canada?

No. Travelers to Canada must comply with the Government of Canada's requirement to take a COVID-19 test before boarding a flight to Canada. The test must be completed within 72 hours prior to the traveler's scheduled departure for Canada.

Does registration for arrival testing replace the need to complete an ArriveCAN application prior to entering Canada?

No, all travelers must complete an ArriveCAN application in accordance with Government of Canada requirements.

We are traveling together, is one appointment for COVID-19 testing enough?

No, each traveler accompanying you must make an appointment for a COVID-19 test.

How much do I have to pay to participate?

You will not have to pay anything to Biron for the screening test upon arrival.

What type of COVID-19 test does Biron perform on arrival?

The test performed is a molecular detection by PCR. This polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) looks for viral RNA in a sample of secretions from the nose (nasopharyngeal swab).

What do I need to bring with me for the test at the airport?

Your passport.

The time (or date) of my flight has changed, how do I change my registration?

If the date of your arrival changes, you will have to make a new registration.

If the time of your arrival changes, but the date remains the same as originally scheduled, no changes need to be made.

Please note that it is not possible nor necessary to modify a registration.
