NK Vue® test

NK Vue® is a simple blood test that measures the activity of NK (natural killer) cells. These immune cells have the ability to selectively kill tumoural cells. Therefore, they are part of the body’s arsenal to defend itself against cancers. The NK Vue® test is used specifically to improve colorectal cancer screening. In the event of a positive iFOBT (immunochemical fecal occult blood test) and low NK Vue® result, the patient has an increased risk of colorectal cancer and can therefore be prioritized for a colonoscopy.

Hot zone

A hot zone is a section of a facility (sometimes an entire facility or even a city district) where there is a high risk of contamination by patients with an infectious disease. All individuals entering a hot zone must respect appropriate protective measures. By analogy, “cold zone” and “warm zone” are used to refer to areas where there is no infected individual or only individuals suspected of having an infection.
