Sleep care - COVID-19

Mask is mandatory

All patients must wear a mask to receive their service. It can be a medical or handmade mask. A scarf or other item is tolerated. It is important that the mouth and nose be covered at all times during the appointment. This measure is based on public health recommendations and is for an indefinite period of time.

Wearing the mask may be exempted under certain circumstances:

  • 12 years old and under: recommended, not mandatory
  • 2 years old and under: not recommended, not mandatory
  • Medical condition (please mention it to the receptionist upon your arrival)

Mandatory screening

Anyone who finds themselves in any of these situations is respectfully requested not to come to our service centers. Be informed that all our services require an appointment.

1. Patients who have or have had COVID-19-like symptoms within the past 48 hours

Presence of one of these symptoms:

  • cough (recent or chronic exacerbated)
  • fever
  • breathing difficulties, shortness of breath, or choking even at rest
  • loss of sense of smell without nasal congestion with or without loss of taste

OR

Presence of at least two of these symptoms:

  • generalized muscle pain not related to physical effort
  • headaches (recent or exacerbated)
  • sore throat (recent or exacerbated)
  • stomach aches and/or nausea and/or vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • significant loss of appetite
  • intense fatigue (recent or exacerbated)
2. Patients who, in the past 14 days, have been in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 for 15 minutes or more of cumulative contact and less than 2 meters unprotected.
3. Patients currently under quarantine for one or more of the following reasons:
  • Have been diagnosed positive for COVID-19
  • Have returned from a trip outside of Canada for 14 days or less
  • Are waiting for a test result for COVID-19
  • Any other reason

  • Telephone or videoconference appointment with your respiratory therapist
  • Purchase and renewal of devices, masks and accessories online at cpap.biron.com (certain conditions apply)
  • Laboratory diagnostic tests (Cardiorespiratory Polygraphy for Sleep Disorders)

  • Spirometry
